It can be exciting to travel down the road in just about any area of the US and see an iconic vehicle from years past that you may have forgotten about. All autos come with a certain lifespan and there are many that have become almost obsolete over the last 20 years. If you are looking to buy one of these models, you may have a bit of a search, but some of the best car dealerships may be able to help you acquire one.
Most of the vehicles no longer manufactured today are gone because consumers tastes have shifted over time and buyers look for different features and body styles than they did previously. Other auto failures are due to the 2008 recession or bankruptcies and bailouts by GM and Chrysler in 2009.
Here are a few examples of some really nice vehicles that are no longer being produced:
- Hummer produced by GM
- Ford Mercury
- Chrysler Plymouth, including the Plymouth Voyager minivan
- GM Pontiac
- GM Geo
- Toyota Scion
- BMW Land Rover and Range Rover
- Chrysler Eagle
It is important to note that if you are lucky enough to find one of these vehicles and purchase it, there is a real possibility that it will be difficult (if not almost impossible) to obtain factory parts should you need a replacement. There are components that will work on a variety of vehicles, but it is not likely that you will find the exact replacement that you need.
